The foredeck with fittings removed
One little patch of the original blue gel coat is showing through on the deck.

The main deck
Now the main hatch is also clear, along with all the stanchion bases. All deck hold will be cleared out and filled with epoxy before redrilling.

Removing the main hatch slides
The main hatch had been leaking so the guide rails are also being removed for varnishing and recaulking.

Repairing the stern deck
Old davits that were removed long ago had cracked the top layer of the stern deck, and years of water ingress had made the balsa core spongy.

Sanding the deck
The deck is being sanded to remove the old layer of loose awlgrip. It was tenatious in some areas and peeling in others, right down to the original blue diamond non-skid patterns.

The rotted balsa core
The piece on the left is the top layer of fiberglass with the balsa core attached.The lower layer of fiberglass is visible on the right with the balsa scraped off.

The cockpit seat hatch openings
One side project, to replace the seat hatch piano hinges with hidden cabinet hinges. These pictures helped we locate the right hinges and plan their mounting.
