After so many years of adjusting the flax packing by laying over the engine with two wrenches, I'm looking forward to the new dripless shaft seal.

Varnishing the interior teak woodwork
Since many pieces of interior woodwork were loose, they were brought home and cleaned and varnished (polyurethane).

Sanding begins on the topsides gel coat, long with patching of larger blemishes.

Deck patching and priming
The old Awlgrip on the deck was difficult to remove, and the underlying gel coat is being patches and faired. Nearly all deck hardware has been removed.

The cockpit and stern deck being primed
On the cockpit I eliminated of old holes, rerouting the bilge blower out an existing stern deck cowl vent instead of into the cockpit.

Working continues on the fairing
Some many curves and faces make this work very time consuming. The main cabin hatch and the cockpit hatches are being treated down in the garage below.

The cabin top is starting to look good
The fairing is nearing completion on the cabin top. The foredeck is still being worked.
