Don Brooks was born in North Carolina and raised as a
Southern Baptist. "Every Sunday I heard about the probability
of going to Hell. I rejected the church and began investigating
other paths; Native American Spirituality, Buddhism,
Self-help books, meditation, others. I came back into a more
formal relationship with Christianity by way of the Unity Church
(not Unitarian). Unity has broader interpretation of Christian
teachings that presented me with a more loving and kind God.
This made me excited and interested in being a Christian
because it offered a more loving, interesting, and peaceful
life. Unity also emphasizes our personal role
and responsibility as children of God for the
"realities" we co-create with God."
