| Water in the Bible |
|
In an arid land water assumes overwhelming importance-thus in many great Bible stories water is a major player. From Noah's flood to the baptism of Jesus; from Jacob's well to the "water of life"; from "water out of the rock" to "water now became wine" - we'll revisit some of these scenes, and also get an update on the Sea of Galilee, the River Jordan, and even on the water supply problem facing Israelis and Palestinians today. Bring your Bible.

Bob Meserve taught civil and environmental engineering at Northeastern University for 33 years. His major interest was in water supply, water quality, water treatment, and water distribution. It is not surprising then that he would be enthusiastic about Bible passages dealing with water-or lack of it. He taught an earlier Adult Ed course at Old South on the "Life of Christ in Art". |
