The Parables of Jesus

Jesus Parables of Grace

During this course, we will be studying several of the parables that Jesus used to teach his disciples and those who were following him during his itinerant ministry. Jesus often taught with parables as a way of preparing his disciples to carry on his ministry; while at the same teaching within the verbal tradition of the culture. We will be using the Bible;  Interpreting the Parables by Craig L. Bloomberg; and  Parables from the Backside by J. Ellsworth Kalas as our resources.

So please join us as we attempt to answer the questions: What do the Parables of Jesus mean to me, and my life? and, What do the Parables of Jesus mean to my "world" with my "neighbor"?

Dianne has been a member of Old South United Methodist Church for 5 years. She is currently a member of the Adult Ed Committee, and has served on the Mission Commission. She was a member of the first Disciple I Bible Study, and has also taken Disciple II and Soul Feast classes. She received a Missions & Evangelism degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
