The Lion, the Witch and the WardrobeJoin in an Old South United Methodist Church all church reading of this classic tale from noted Christian scholar and author C.S. Lewis. Everyone is invited to participate in this new and exciting Lenten program. All ages and members of the Old South Family are encouraged to take part in this event that will include devotion time, group discussion, fellowship events, and a retreat. The retreat (like all aspects of this program) is geared for all ages. Everyone is encouraged to participate. February 9th - Ash Wednsday, begin reading this classic as part of your Lenten Devitions or for entertainment. February 23 - Mrs. Beaver's Dinner: dessert of Marmalade Roll and Sugar Cake served after the Wednesday evening service. You can order a copy of the book through Old South for $7 before January 15th by signing up in the Vestry, or contacting the church office (781-944-2636 or office@old-south.org). Also, feel free to use your own copies, library signouts, or purchased e-books with readers, but you'll need to have a copy at your fingertips for events in the program.
The retreat will feature special guest speaker Reverend Stan Bohall who has devoted his ministry to share in the Good News of Christ through the life and works of C.S. Lewis. This seminar will discuss "The Lion the Witch and the Wardobe", "The Chronicles of Narnia", and biographical information on C.S. Lewis' conversion and journey of faith.
