May the inspiration of this Easter season continue to strengthen and nourish us on our journey of faith. Consider continuing daily meditation with The Upper Room, available at church. Here is one to get us started
SCRIPTURE: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." II Corinthians 5:17
I love the old hymns of the church! I sing so many of them as prayers. I use them as words of encouragement. They give me strength to carry on. To name but a few, my favorites are:
"What a Friend We Have in Jesus, All Our Sins and Griefs to Bear."
"Take My Life and Let it be Consecrated, God, to Thee"
"O, Master Let Me Walk with Thee"
"A Charge to Keep I Have, a God to Glorify"
"O, How I Love Jesus; Because He First Loved Me"
So many people are helping me along my way of service. My husband picks up the pieces; he sings to me; he prays with me. There are many in my church family, many friends, many relatives, who are keeping me in prayer every day. I'm not going to let them down. I am not going to let my God down!
I need my Jesus. He has transformed my life! He makes me new with each morning and I rise and face whatever the day brings. God is waiting to find someone to be His hands, His feet, His eyes, His mouth.
This year at "Sing `n Ring" weekend, held at Rolling Ridge, we sang an anthem entitled, "Yes Lord." The words continue, "Yes, my Lord. Yes is our answer: What's your question gonna be?" (Words and music by Pepper Choplin).
