Lenten Giving

As a part of Lent, each year Church and Society Committee provides an opportunity to put our Lent reflection into action by giving something to others. In past years, Lenten Giving Efforts have been opportunities to give to organizations outside our Church (i.e., books to a school in Lawrence, items and time to Lazurus House).

This year we decided to focus efforts on supporting some of Old South's ministries. We have chosen to support:

• Reading Food Pantry
• Clock Tower Kids
• Patterson Youth Center

Each group has picked a few items they really need. Please consider giving to one or more of these ministries.

Donation boxes will be located in the vestry and Sunday school wing starting the first Sunday of Lent (March 4). Here are the items needed:

Reading Food Pantry:

• laundry detergent

Clock Tower Kids:

• Basic function calculators for doing homework
• Washable color markers and glue sticks
• Dress up clothes for grades K-2
• Brio train pieces

Patterson Youth Center:

• PC computer diskettes
• Computer paper
• Microwave popcorn
• Paperback books
• Videos for teens

Please prayfully consider sacrificing in order to give to others as a way to rejoice in Jesus' resurrection.
